Hats-off Mr.MP
Two days ago i planned to meet the Memeber of Parliment of my town council. I managed to get the information about the session from one of my friend, living in my block. As adviced by him, i was there quiet early in the evening, yesterday. After few formalities and a session with the grass root supporters, i managed to meet the MP. That was the first time i am meeting such a high profile person, specially from the politics, in my life. But the best part is that, Mr.Yeo Cheow Tong made me feel easy and provided me with a rememberable evening.
In the night, my wife was quiet curious about the formalities and the session. The reason is that we were trying to compare a similar scenario back in my country, INDIA. My friends from India would definitely agree with my following observations. Meeting an MP is an himalayan task ! probably considered that you are lucky if you ever had a meeting with an MP of your own constituency. Also the security level may not allow you to talk with such a high profile man for a long time. But down here in singapore, it is so easy to plan to meet your MP and put up your requests and problems to him. I am not magnifying incidents as well as not interested in criticising others. THERE SEEMS TO BE ALWAYS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERYONE TO LEARN FROM EVERYONE ELSE AND CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN AN EFFICIENT AND PROGRESSIVE MANNER.
HOCKEY CHAMPIONS !
Quiet long time since i blogged !!! I have listed few items to share today. The first on my priority list is obviously the recent Inter Statutory Board Games (ISBG) games held at NYP. We were the HOCKEY CHAMPIONS again. We won last year as well. Another 5 more government organisations participated in this hockey match. The nightmare was that there were not enough players and hence couldnt have a substitute right from the qualifying round. Everyone in our team played in all the matches and was almost exhausted for the final game ! The very sense of winning the event game me the sufficient boost to drag myself until to my home. Need to spend the weekend lying on the bed. Muscle stiffness in my buttox, thigh muscles and those wounds on both my knees! ( unable to balance myself on the wet pitch while drebbling made to fall on the ground )

Sudden Change in myself - A Clean Shave !
" It's not how much you have that makes people look up to you, it's who you are " would say Elvis Presley. I agree.... but you see.... yeah... yes... Errrr....rrrr.... i really wanted to give a change to myself and thatz the reason i have to give away with my mush!!!!! Even though i realize that this is not the way to show the changes, but this is truely not an attempt to make people look up to myself.... !!!
But still when i look up this picture.... seems like it suits me a bit..... Heeeheeee...heeee....eeee
STEALTH FIGHTER - my first origami work
Recently attended an "Origami Workshop" conducted by the interest group at Central Library, Nanyang Polytechnic. The instructor was very brief in explaining few techniques ( it was a very brief session extending not more than 30mins ) and yet he managed to create an interest towards the topic among the participants. Inspired by the display of his works (which included a dinosaur, a frog, rose with petals, fish, etc..), i immediately borrowed this book from the library. The same night i started to try my first origami work, even though i have done a paper camera, a boat, a rocket during my school days !. I was browsing the book for a simpler tutorial. In the end i picked up the STEALTH FIGHTER. Believe me, i managed to finish it in my first try. I have attached the picture above. I further moved on to try A SNAIL. Eventually even after three tries it never looked like it. Hence I called it a day but i am determinant to finish it sooner !!

Ego Beast
Morning one of my student ANITHA called me to discuss about some of her current projects and her difficulties with one of her previous supervisor. She is quite a studious girl and hardworking too. Unfortunately the last semester didnt turn up in her favour. Infact it became one of her worst too.
She was attached to one of the company in jurong island last semester for a period of nearly four months. Her supervisor in the company turned up to a ego beast. He was a chinese. He didnt expect the kind of dedication and steady output from her. He gave her challenging jobs which she did with enthusiasm and managed to finish before deadline. Unable to digest the fact that she is gaining grounds in the company, he started to disturb her constantly. He even went to the extend of writing something wrong about her behaviour and performance to her supervisors back in the school (Which happened to me!). I had written to him many times to extend his support to her in completing her industrial attachment successfully. He didnt listen to me and eventually he gave a very bad feedback about her. This affected her academic results and pushed her overall results to very low grade. She was really upset and i had to console her many times and gave her hopes.
She was very determinent and strong. She worked hard and she got few offers ( eventually took some marketing position). Until recently she had an another offer from one of the industrial gaints in singapore. The company had short listed her / went through few gruelling rounds of interview and she had hopes that she would get the position. But she didnt get any confirmation call from the company thereafter. When she called them back, she was hinted that her supervisor (during her industrial attachment) had given a very bad feedback about her.
When she told about this to me in the morning, i was really shocked. It really speaks so bad about that particular person. I felt that he is taking advantage of his position and playing with the kids future. What right he has in blocking the offers that she toiled so much to get ? Why people dont understand that WHAT ONE HAS TODAY MAY NOT BE HIS TOMORROW. NOTHING IN THIS MATERIAL WORLD IS GOING TO PERSIST FOR LONGER PERIOD NOR DO THEY BELONG TO US. WHAT WE BROUGHT TO THIS WORLD WHEN WE WERE BORN AND WHAT WE ARE GOING TO BRING BACK WHEN WE DIE?

It is another quite day. Tejas and Neeraj are too naughty. Gave a break to Chitra, i bathed both of them. Believe me, its not soo easy to be a house wife taking caring of two kids, specially ones like Tejas and Neeraj.
Although sunday, i had to shower just because i was tired of settling both of them.
BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, MY LOVE TOWARDS MY FAMILY IS GAINING MUCH DEEPER ROOTS. I LUV TEJAS, NEERAJ AND CHITRA !!

Got a reason to celebrate
As put in my previous post i had every reason to celebrate 10th Jun'2006. That completes one year term with NYP. Yesterday i took Chitra, Tejas and Neeraj to Singapore Zoological Gardens. We had a great day. The weather was very pleasant, eventhough it rained heavily for nearly half an hour at around 3pm, it was a perfect gift from GOD to keep us cool all through out the day and enjoy our walking around the various stations in the ZOO.
Tejas and Neeraj were happy watching the animals. They always liked to watch GIRAFFEE, ELEPHANT, LION, TIGER, RHINO, ALIGATORS and KANGAROO. It is a treat to see them in perfect rythm yesterday. We managed to sit in for the ELEPHANTS OF ASIA show - Tejas's favourite.
I never thought that i would be blessed with such a perfect gift.
THANK GOD, MUM AND DAD FOR BLESSING ME WITH EVERYTHING THAT I WISHED
Time is clicking faster than actually realized !
Yes, thatz absolutely true. Everyone, at either one or more instances in thier life would have felt this. I always realized this whenever i had to complete a task at the last minute !
The important fact that i wanted to share with u all is that I HAVE COMPLETED EXACTLY A YEAR ASSOCIATING MYSELF WITH NYP ! Shall i call this a first anniversary with NYP? Even though it had been ten years since i actually started to earn my own living, my one year with NYP had given me more sense of satisfaction than any others. The reason being that i had given a chance to guide young minds towards achieving thier goals. In this process few disliked me and many liked my way of providing guidance. But my stand is very clear - PUT ALL MY STUDENTS BACK ON TRACK, WHICH WOULD EVENTUALLY LEAD THEM TO THE TARGET THAT THEY CHOOSE A FEW YEARS BACK !

It happens in Singapore !
Hi,
Have u ever been stopped near the entrance of a MRT station in singapore for S$1.00 donation? If your answer is YES then everthing around you is going NORMAL. Now, Have u ever been stopped near the entrance of a MRT station to receive a free sample of newly launced product or a copy of free daily? If your answer is YES then you are either a CHINESE or sometimes a MALAY ! If your answer is NO then you are a confirmed INDIAN or confirmed MINORITY in SINGAPORE !
The issue that i want to bring into light is not about THE ELIGIBILITY TO RECIEVE THESE FREE GIFTS but to raise the question, WHETHER SINGAPORE IS REALLY PREPARED TO EMBRACE ALL THE RESOURCES THAT IT HAS BARGAINED FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD FOR ITS GROWTH ?
Last friday i was about to broad a train at Yio Chu Kang MRT station bound to Jurong East. I was walking towards the MRT with my fellow staff Mr.Lim. As we were nearing the station we found a group of young singapore icons distributing free samples of AQUA ROAD ( a product of MapleSEA). Although there was not heavy traffic at the time, the icons managed to pass a sample to my friend and prepared to handover another to another passenger behind me ! I dont want to complaint the fact that i didnt received one. But WHAT IS THE NEED FOR SUCH A STUPID DRAMA where they need to act as if they didnt see me but the rest? I dont know what my friend thought about the STUPIDITY of those people, he just turned to me and told me that HE DOESNT NEED THE PRODUCT BUT INSTEAD I WOULD FIND IT USEFUL, as i had two kids.
Singapore Leaders spend such an enormous effort to bring in TALENTS from different parts of the world to SEE SINGAPORE GROW, SO THAT THIER PEOPLE WOULD PROSPER. They claim that singapore is a role model where people from all the communities live in harmony! But, IS EVERYONE HAS GOT SIMILAR VISION FOR SINGAPORE? ARE WE PREPARED TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THERE IS A NEED TO SHARE AND GROW ALONG?

Parents Day at Bible School, Yew Tee
Bible School Kindergarten Celebrated Parents Day today. Tejas is doing his Nursery II for the past 6 months. Got his progress report. Few of the columns marked as "Good" and the rest "Average". It was not fair to judge a kid based on the feedback from the school. I know about Tejas. He is very obedient and studious guy.
Is it my freedom ?
Quite excited about the fact that i finally got the freedom to express myself ! but secretly !!! Is this a freedom? In the first place, Why the hell do i think that i am bound by some forces to subdue myself expressing the feelings, expressing about the things that i think is right, expressing about the things that i think is wrong !
LET ME UNLEASH MY INNER FEELINGS AS IT HAPPENS
